Market Watch with Timaree Hagenburger: Strawberries

It's difficult to resist a perfectly ripe strawberry, but did you know just how good they are for you?

Packed with vitamins, fiber and particularly high levels of antioxidants, strawberries are a sodium-free, fat-free, cholesterol-free, low-calorie food. They are among the top 20 fruits in antioxidant capacity and are a good source of manganese and potassium, according to Timaree Hagenburger, aka The Nutrition Professor.

Timaree is a registered dietitian with a master's degree in public health. She also is a nutrition professor at Cosumnes River College in Sacramento and a food lover who likes sharing tips and tricks on how to enjoy fresh California fruits and vegetables—such as strawberries.
